Global Citizen Festival is on Tonight!

We have been waiting for the Global Citizen festival since August. The outfits have already been planned, hair and nails, already done. It is on in Mzansi. All roads lead to the Johannesburg FNB Stadium tonight.

What is the Global Citizen Festival?

Before we get our dancing shoes on, let us give a brief history of the festival. We cannot be dancing all night long without knowing what we are dancing to or what we are dancing for. Allow us to give a brief history then we can dance.
The Global Citizen is an annual festival that started in 2012.  For 2018, the celebration was also mixed with the Centenary Celebration for Nelson Mandela. The festival will be in line with Tata’s goal to eradicate extreme poverty in South Africa and the rest of the world. Now that that has been said, at least we know that tonight we are dancing for a good cause.

The Line-Up

The line-up for the Global Citizen Festival 2018 is epic. We have artists from all around the world that will be performing tonight. We cannot even wait to get there. Some of the artists that are lined up include Chris Martin, Tiwa Savage, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, our own Casper Nyovest and let us not forget the Carters. Queen B and her king Jay-Z are also among the artists. That couple right there is the reason why there is so much hype about the festival.

Do not worry we promise that we will be back tomorrow with another great post. However, for now, allow to go and dance the night away at the Global Citizen Festival 2018.

It is Finally December!

You know December is like the Weekend of the year. We have to wait 11 good months just to get to that one month that we all enjoy. However, at times we do put a lot of pressure on the poor month. Why we say so, well you see December can determine what the year 2018 has been.  If December becomes boring, 2018 has been a bad year. However, if December is fun, then 2018 has been a great year. That is a lot of pressure for one month. At least it has 31 days though.

The Late President George H.W. Bush Loved Skydiving

George H.W. Bush, who died on the 30th of November 2018 at the age of 94, loved skydiving. The 41st U.S. president served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot during World War II. This is probably where he developed the love for high-flying activity.
The former president celebrated his major age milestone in sky-high style. He celebrated his 75th, 80th, 85th and 90 birthdays by skydiving. Press reports say that he would leap out of flying planes to commemorate his birthdays. In fact, his last parachute jump was when he turned 90 in June of 2014. He got help from his family who carried him from his wheelchair to the chopper. There, they sang “happy birthday for him” before the chopper took off.
George H.W. Bush then jumped from a helicopter at about 6 000 feet. He was harnessed to Sargent 1st Class Mike Elliot. Elliot is a retired member of the Golden Knights which happens to be the Army’s parachute team. Elliot did manage to land Bush gently.Pick of George h. w Bush skydiving
Commenting on skydiving with the former president, Sgt Mike Elliott said that is what Bush wanted for his birthday. He went on to say, “It’s a very good feeling to be involved and be able to turn back time. He’s probably feeling younger now than ever.”
At that time, USA Today reported that Bush had touched down near his home in Kennebunkport.
After the event, Bush tweeted, “It’s a wonderful day in Maine — in fact, nice enough for a parachute jump.”
People who witnessed the event say that when Bush landed, his wife, Barbara, greeted him with a kiss. He also received a hug from former President George W. Bush, his son. His spokesperson, Jim McGarth, said that Bush enjoyed the thrills and adrenalin.
McGarth went on to say that this was vintage Bush. He said that it was Bush’s passion for life. “It’s that passion for life. It’s wanting to set a goal, wanting to achieve it. I’m sure part of it is sending a message to others that even in your retirement years you can still find challenges,” he continued.
